We're sorry to see you go. This guide explains how to permanently delete your account and what happens to your data.

This action is permanent

Account deletion cannot be undone. Once deleted, your plugin library, notes, tags, and all other data will be permanently removed from our servers.

Before You Delete

Before deleting your account, consider:

Exporting your data - Download your plugin library so you have a copy. See Exporting Your Data.
Canceling vs. deleting - If you just want to stop paying, you can cancel your subscription instead. Your data will be preserved on the free tier.
Taking a break - Your account will remain active indefinitely on the free tier. You don't need to delete to stop using the service.

Consider exporting first

We strongly recommend exporting your data before deletion. This gives you a backup of your plugin organization work in case you change your mind later.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

Your user profile and account information
Your plugin library and all user-plugin associations
Personal notes added to any plugins
Custom tags you've created
Any stored preferences and settings

What is NOT deleted:

Central plugin database - The shared plugin information (names, vendors, descriptions) is part of our central database and is not user-specific
Anonymized usage analytics - Aggregated, non-identifying analytics data may be retained for service improvement

How to Delete Your Account

Open Settings

Click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar. On a narrow screen, open the sidebar with the menu button first.

Scroll to the Danger Zone

Settings is a single page of sections. Danger Zone is the last one, at the bottom.

Click Delete Account

Click the Delete Account button there.

Confirm deletion

A dialog asks you to type delete my account to confirm. Its Delete Account button stays disabled until what you type matches that phrase exactly.

If you have an active Pro subscription, it is canceled first, with no further charges. If that cancellation fails, nothing is deleted — your account is left exactly as it was, and you can try again.

Account deleted

Once confirmed, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. You'll be signed out and redirected to the homepage.

After Deletion

Can I recover my account?

No. Deletion happens while you wait and there is no undo — once the request has run, we have no way to bring an individual account back. The one copy that briefly outlives it is our database provider's six-hour point-in-time recovery history, described below.

Can I sign up again?

Yes. You can create a new account using the same email address at any time. However, you'll be starting fresh with no previous data.

What about my subscription payment?

If you delete your account mid-billing cycle, no refund is issued for the remaining time. We recommend canceling your subscription first and deleting at the end of your billing period.

Timing and Data Retention

Deletion is not a scheduled job that runs later. It all happens in the one request you trigger when you confirm: your subscription is canceled, your records are deleted from our database, your sign-in record is removed, and you are signed out. If the subscription cancellation fails, nothing is deleted and your account is left exactly as it was.

Our database provider keeps a rolling six-hour point-in-time history of the database for disaster recovery. That history is the only copy of your data that outlives the request, and we have no way to restore a single account from it. Six hours after you delete, no copy of your records remains in our database or its recovery history.
