Adding a Plugin We Don't Know Yet

Most plugins are already in our catalog, ready to add. When one isn't, you can still add it — it lands in your library right away and builds its own page.

Our catalog covers thousands of plugins, but not every one — boutique tools, brand-new releases, and rare finds might not be in it yet. That's fine. You can add any plugin by name, and we'll build its page for you in the background.

How to add one

1

Search for it

Open the + Add Plugin dialog and start typing. If we have it, it'll appear in the results — just add it the usual way.
2

Don't see it? Add it anyway

If nothing matches, you'll see “Can't find it? Add it and we'll fill in the details for you.” You can also type the brand if you know it — that helps us find the right one. Then add it.
3

It's in your library instantly

The plugin appears right away with an Adding details… note on the card. You don't have to wait around or do anything else.

If it looks like a typo

If what you typed is close to a plugin we do have, we'll ask “Did you mean …?” first, so a small misspelling doesn't create a stray entry. Pick the match, or add exactly what you typed.

How long it takes

Usually a minute or two. We look up the plugin, put together its description and category, and the card fills in on its own — no refresh needed. If we're especially busy, it might take a little longer, and the card will tell you honestly rather than leaving you guessing.

You can add your own notes, tags, ratings, and wishlist to the plugin right away — even before its details have finished filling in. Nothing is blocked while you wait.

What the card says

While a newly added plugin is filling in, its card shows a short note about where things stand:

Adding details…We're building the page now. This usually clears within a minute or two, and the full card appears in its place.
We'll add the details within a dayYou've added a lot at once, so this one is lined up to fill in a little later — within a day.
This is taking longer than usualA rare or hard-to-find plugin. We're still working on it and will keep trying.
We couldn't add details automaticallySome plugins are obscure enough that we can't build a page for them on our own yet. It stays in your library and you can still track it — add notes, tags, a rating, or put it on your wishlist.

How many you can add

You can add plenty in a day, and your very first import gets extra room so you can bring your whole collection in at once. If you add a large number of unknown plugins in a single burst, some will fill in a little later rather than all at once — the card will let you know when that's the case. Subscribers get more room per day.

Very new or renamed plugins

If a plugin was only released recently or was renamed, the details we find may be incomplete at first. The plugin still works in your library, and its page improves as more information becomes available.
